Extend the Suspension of Right To Buy
It is our intention to apply to the Scottish Government to extend the suspension of Right to Buy on all our properties until 2022.
If the Association is successful then this will mean that you cannot exercise your Right to Buy until at least 2022. If we are unsuccessful then tenants in Wick and the landward areas of Caithness will have the Right to Buy subject to cost floor rules and various other pieces of legislation. However tenants in Thurso would not be able to exercise their Right to Buy until 2015 at the earliest because house sales in Thurso and surrounding areas are protected by Pressured Area Status.
We will of course advise everyone of the outcome of our application once we know the result, most probably in the late Summer.
