Pentland Community Enterprises

PCE is a community enterprise that seeks to identify business and development opportunities that can make a meaningful contribution to the economy of Caithness and the North Highlands.


We hold The Social Enterprise Mark, which assures customers that PCE is motivated to trade for people and planet through socially and environmentally responsible means. Specifically we aim to tackle issues of unemployment, deprivation and exclusion in Caithness and North Sutherland.

PCE is a subsidiary company of Pentland Housing Association Ltd, a registered social landlord and registered charity. The aim of PCE is to establish new not-for-profit enterprise to benefit the Caithness and North Sutherland Community. We are a company limited by shares and governed by our board of directors.


Our projects include our Mid-Market Rentals which consist of 7 properties that are fitted with white goods and carpets which we rent out. These properties are aimed at individuals and households who due to a higher household income are unlikely to secure a social tenancy or are unable to buy in their local housing market. The rents are set at less than the market rate which is prescribed by the Highland Council.

We also manage a stock of 316 garages and 46 parking bays. We have a number of available garages within Thurso at the moment. Rental of the garages/storage solutions range from £40.13 to £59.69 depending on if they have been refurbished or not. Payment via monthly DD. 

We are currently investigating a number of possible development opportunities for unused sites including storage solutions and workshops.

PCE also factor a number of properties in Thurso and Wick. This service can include gardening, communal cleaning, cyclical maintenance, and inspections.
